Recent reports by Sahara Reporters alleging that the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, is implicated in an ongoing fraud case involving the account of Woobs Resources Limited have been found to be misleading.
Contrary to the claims, a charge sheet dated May 12, 2025, listed the actual defendants as Victor Ukutt, Esq., Fidelity Bank Plc, Whoba Ugwunna Ogo, and Safiya Whoba. Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe’s name was not included among the individuals charged.
Further clarification came from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, which issued a press release on June 9, 2025.
The statement confirmed that Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe was never the account officer nor the Managing Director at the time the disputed account was opened, and her name was accordingly struck out from the case.
The development lays to rest concerns about the Fidelity Bank MD’s involvement, reinforcing her non-complicity in the matter.
