The Federal Polytechnic Nekede has successfully reinstated admissions for the Higher National Diploma (HND) program in Pharmaceutical Technology, marking a significant achievement under the leadership of the 9th Substantive Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe.
During a courtesy visit by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday, February 10, 2025, the Rector commended the Head of the Pharmaceutical Technology Department for their relentless advocacy, particularly through well-articulated communications that played a crucial role in lifting the admission ban.
Dr. Igbokwe highlighted the persistent efforts of her administration in engaging with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and other key stakeholders.
She recounted numerous trips to Abuja to resolve the matter, emphasizing her deep concern for students who, after completing their National Diploma (ND), were left in academic limbo without the option to advance to the HND level or transition to another program.
Expressing immense relief, the Rector announced that the NBTE recently issued formal approval for the resumption of HND admissions in Pharmaceutical Technology.
Following this development, our media team has confirmed that HND students have resumed classes, marking the beginning of a new academic phase for the department.
