FedPolyNek Research Directorate Shines At FME Innovation Exhibition In Abuja

The Federal Polytechnic Nekede has once again demonstrated its commitment to groundbreaking research and innovation, making a remarkable impact at the recently concluded Federal Ministry of Education (FME) Exhibition in Abuja.

This milestone underscores the institution’s dedication to advancing technology and driving innovation across polytechnics and enterprise institutions in Nigeria.

According to a statement released by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Rector on Media Matters, the Research and Development (R&D) Directorate, led by Dr. Peace Abana, proudly represented the Polytechnic at the National Exhibition on Creativity and Innovation in Polytechnics, organized by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The event, held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja, from February 10th to 12th, 2025, provided a platform for showcasing pioneering inventions, including: Water-powered generator plants; Air jets; Innovative cooking gas solutions; Advanced auto engines; Artistic and creative designs.

These innovations, developed by a team of dedicated researchers—including Engr. (Dr.) Adikwanduaba Sylvestre, Engr. Pius Nwosu, Dr. Nleonu Emmanuel, Mr. Tega, and Mr. Nkwocha Okechukwu, among others—drew widespread admiration from attendees, including the Minister of State for Education and other distinguished dignitaries.

Reacting to the Polytechnic’s outstanding participation, Dr.  Abana, the Acting Director of Research and Innovation, reaffirmed FedPolyNek’s unwavering commitment to fostering creativity and driving technological advancement in alignment with the Federal Government’s research agenda.

“We are proud to have showcased remarkable projects and talents that reflect the ingenuity and technical expertise within our institution. This national platform has further fueled our drive to push the boundaries of innovation and excellence,” Dr. Abana stated.

She also expressed appreciation to Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Igbokwe, the Capacity Rector, whose visionary leadership and steadfast support played a pivotal role in the Directorate’s successful participation in the exhibition.
