She made the announcement on Friday, 9th August 2025, while receiving the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Imo State Chapter, led by Chairman Barr. Chidubem Uzodinma Ekwelem Jnr., in a courtesy visit to the Council Chamber.

In addition, the Rector awarded scholarships worth ₦300,000 each to five students with disabilities under an Opay-backed ₦2 billion, 10-year empowerment programme.
