The atmosphere brimmed with reverence as Pastor Chigoziri Jeribe, Chairman of the FEDPONEK NEWS Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief, lifted the assembly in a solemn opening prayer, after which the National and Polytechnic Anthems, led by Dr. A.C. Madu, Director of APQAD, were rendered with pride. The air glittered with institutional excellence as the School PRO, Mr. Anayo Ikeh, warmly recognized dignitaries: Deputy Rector, Dr. Friday Uzoma Ibeaja; Registrar, Mr. Stanley Ugochukwu Njoku; Bursar, Mrs. Chinyere Adanne Ojiuko; Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Charles Obichere; Deans, Directors, HODs, Rector’s Staff, and members from various divisions of the institution.

The event gracefully embraced tradition with the presentation of kolanut, an age-old symbol of hospitality and honour, before the hall blossomed with birthday speeches and goodwill messages. Each tribute from principal officers and distinguished personalities painted the Rector as a beacon of transformational leadership, a mother figure, and an icon of academic excellence.

The highlight came with the cutting of the birthday cake, ushered in with flair by Mr. Onwumere Emmanuel Ugonna (a.k.a. Bossman), an Imo State-born compere and staff of the Institution’s Information and Public Relations Unit. With tantalizing ceremonial rhythm, he thrilled the audience before inviting Dr. Juliana Njoku, Director of the Evening Programme Directorate, to administer the cutting, symbolizing the sweetness of a life lived with purpose.

The joy deepened as Dr. Anayo Uhiara, the School Orator, elegantly anchored the toast, lifting hearts and glasses in unison to celebrate the Rector’s rare virtues.

In an inspiring interlude, the Birthday Planning Committee presented the Rector with a special gift, a state-of-the-art massaging sitting machine. The thoughtful gift was more than a token of love; it symbolized care for the Rector’s wellbeing, acknowledging her tireless dedication and the enormous weight of leadership she carries. Designed to ease tension and promote relaxation, the machine stands as a practical tool for stress management, ensuring that the Rector finds soothing comfort amidst her demanding schedule. The gesture drew admiration from all present, highlighting the community’s deep concern for the health and wellness of their leader.

Overwhelmed yet glowing with delight, the Rector responded with heartfelt words of gratitude, marveling at the secretly planned surprise. Her speech, both humble and inspiring, captured the soul of the occasion, affirming her bond with the community she so dearly loves.

The ceremony drew to a close with a warm vote of thanks from Mrs. Jaachinma Chukwueke BOC, the Rector’s Secretary, followed by a final closing prayer from Dr. Ikejiaku Longinus, Director of the Fedpolynek Medical Center. A serene aura of blessing lingered in the hall.
