The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has provided an update on the death of Priscilla Ocheme, a young woman who was initially reported to have been murdered after visiting her boyfriend, but was later found to have died in a tragic accident.
Priscilla’s family had contacted activist Harrison Gwamnishu, alleging foul play in her death and seeking justice.
According to the family, Priscilla visited her male friend, EKHOSUEHI ISEH ELVIS, a former classmate from Madonna University, at his residence in Lugbe, FCT. She was later found dead under mysterious circumstances, which led to widespread speculation that she had been killed.
However, the police have dismissed these claims, stating that the deceased was involved in a motorcycle accident after leaving the residence of her friend.
In a statement released on Tuesday, October 22, the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, denied allegations of a cover-up, emphasising that the police had conducted a transparent investigation.
The police explained that Priscilla had visited her male friend after having a minor misunderstanding with her mother.
The police noted that “Later that evening, as she was returning home, she was involved in a fatal accident at the AMALA MOORE junction in Pyakasa. Eyewitnesses, two laborers working nearby, rushed her to the Pyakasa Health Centre before she was referred to the Federal Medical Centre Jabi, where she was pronounced dead.
The police assured the public that they remain committed to justice and transparency, adding that further updates would be provided as the investigation continues.
