FAAN Probes Fuji Star K1 De Ultimate Over Airport Security Breach At Abuja Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an investigation into an incident involving renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged breach of aviation security protocols at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, the incident occurred on Monday, August 5, 2025, during the boarding of ValueJet Airlines Flight VK 201 to Lagos.

Preliminary findings revealed that the musician attempted to board the aircraft with a flask containing liquid, in violation of aviation regulations prohibiting liquids exceeding 100ml in hand luggage unless medically required and properly declared.

“During boarding, the passenger attempted to carry an unidentified liquid substance onboard despite repeated warnings from aviation security personnel and the flight captain,” the statement said.

FAAN disclosed that the liquid was later identified as alcohol. The musician allegedly refused to comply when asked to step aside for further checks and reportedly poured the contents of the flask on a security officer.

Tensions escalated as the musician moved to the front of the aircraft and refused to vacate the area, delaying boarding procedures. The flight captain eventually ordered the aircraft door closed after boarding was completed, while K1 De Ultimate was escorted off the plane by the Aviation Security (AVSEC) crime unit.

He was later released after initial questioning.

FAAN condemned the disruption, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on actions that compromise airport safety and security.

“The Authority will not tolerate any conduct that undermines aviation safety and operational integrity, regardless of the status of those involved,” the statement emphasized.

The agency assured the public that the matter remains under thorough investigation and that all individuals found culpable will be held accountable in line with established laws.
