I greet all Muslim faithful across the country particularly in Ibadanland on the completion of the Hijrah 1446AH Ramadan, which marks the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
My message to Muslim ummah is that, it is true that Ramadan has come and gone but its lessons and teachings are still very much around. Let us uphold all its moral lessons, principles and teachings to guide our activities. What are these teachings? The teachings of self discipline and control, empathy and generosity, these will help to strengthen our faith and increase our worship.
I want to urge all of us to consider all the efforts and sacrifices we have made during the Ramadan, day and night to inculcate all these principles in all endeavours as we exhibited in the last 30 days.
It is also essential to appeal to the government at all levels to find lasting solutions to the challenges of hunger and poverty in the country. Things are hard, let the government develop policies that will boost agriculture, create an enabling environment to encourage businesses to thrive and open more opportunities for youth engagement.
I greet the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere and the entire Imam-in-Council, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Dawood Akinola, Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Oyo State, Mutiu Oladejo and all religious leaders, league of Imams and Alfa, Muslim scholars and preachers across Ibadanland. I pray that almighty Allah grant us the opportunity to witness many more Ramadan.
