A medical practitioner, Dr. Sanni Abdulkadir Isah has emphasised that nurses are the cornerstone of healthcare.
Isah, who is the Head of Hospital Services at Lapai General Hospital made the remark during the celebration of World Nurses Day.
“Without nurses, nothing would be accomplished. We are grateful for their dedication, courage, and relentless energy in delivering healthcare services, ensuring the community’s well-being,” he stated.
Dr. Isah highlighted a critical shortage of nurses, a problem faced by many hospitals, and urged the government to address this issue by providing more nursing staff.
Additionally, he called on the government to offer scholarships to promising secondary school students to pursue nursing studies, ultimately integrating them into the healthcare system.
