Dayo Adeneye Opens Up About Past Conflict With Kennis Music Co-Founder Kenny Ogungbe

Dayo Adeneye, the dynamic entertainment entrepreneur and co-founder of Kennis Music alongside Kenny Ogungbe, recently shared insights into a challenging period in their partnership.

In an animated conversation with comedian Teju Babyface on his talk show, Adeneye vividly recounted the turbulent times when he and Ogungbe had a significant falling out.

Adeneye described seeking advice from his father during this schism. His father’s counsel was surprisingly straightforward yet profound: nothing should come between them, and if their disagreement was over something as trivial as money or a woman, they needed to find a way to resolve it.

This unconventional wisdom left Teju Babyface amused, finding the resolution method hard to grasp.

Adeneye clarified that money was never an issue between him and Ogungbe. Their disagreement stemmed from a more personal matter: a woman they both had intentions of dating.

Despite this, their relationship endured, having faced numerous challenges since the launch of Kennis Music in 2000. The label has been instrumental in the success of many Nigerian music superstars, including 2face, Eedris AbdulKareem, Tony Tetuila, Sound Sultan, and Jaywon.

This revelation coincides with D1 Adeneye’s recent criticism of Nigerian women on the Honest Bunch Podcast.

He condemned the trend of women prioritising physical attractiveness over intelligence and slammed the practice of seeking male attention through provocative online posts.

D1 expressed strong disapproval of relying solely on physical appearance to sustain relationships.
