The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin, on his coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation ceremony, which included the presentation of the staff of office, was conducted by His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde.
Mr Adepoju praised Oba Olakuleyin for his charismatic and exemplary qualities, highlighting the monarch’s legendary leadership as an inspiration to all.
He stated that Oba Olakuleyin’s dedication to preserving the unique traditions of Ibadanland has been instrumental in his ascension to the throne.
The council Chairman also lauded Governor Makinde for his wisdom and effective governance, which have fostered peace and harmony in Oyo State.
He expressed his gratitude to the Olubadan-in-Council and the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes for their unwavering support in making the coronation a success, urging them to continue their support for the new Olubadan to ensure further economic prosperity for Ibadanland.
On behalf of his cabinet and the residents of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Mr Adepoju wished Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin a prosperous and impactful reign.
Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin, aged 89, previously served as the Balogun of Ibadanland, head of the military line of the Olubadan system, before being enthroned as the 43rd Olubadan following the passing of Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun.
