...Wife, two children leave for unknown location
The abduction of Mr Dayo Ogundele has thrown the residents of Oko Oba community, in Agege Local Government area of Lagos State into a perplexed state of fear and panic.
Mr Ogundele, who is a Yoruba Nation agitator and Regional Coordinator for Oduduwa Self Reliance Group, was abducted on June 30, 2022 by unknown gun-men while returning home from work around 6:30 pm.
Since then, his whereabout remains unknown.
Members of the Community of Alexander Street Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos, while expressing shock at the incident, said many people have been vacating the area for fear of the unknown.
Speaking recently with our correspondent on the incident, a member of the community, who craved anonymity disclosed that four armed men on the said date, stormed the area while Mr Ogundele was returning home and started shooting sporadically into the air. His car was damaged before they whisked him away in a blue Toyota Camry car to an unknown destination.
Some of his relatives told our reporter that incident was immediately reported to the local Security Agencies for immediate actions but yet no clue has been given as to his whereabout, saying the police claimed that the matter is still under investigation. An official report was made to the Nigerian Police Agege Division 72 hours later by relatives when there was no sign of his return.
This newspaper also gathered that since the incident, his wife, Oyindamola Ogundele, and his two children have reportedly left the community discretely to an unknown destination.
The Yoruba Nation agitators have made enemies with both the Nigerian government and other socio-political groups, that do not believe in their cause.
