Children Day: Oyo Lawmaker Hon. Adebisi To Host Funfair Party For Constituency’s Children On May 27

Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, representing Ibadan South West State Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, will host the constituency’s Children, in commemoration of this year Children day, on Monday, May 27, holding at Abiola Jacob Primary School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, the state capital.

Prince Tope Eluyefa, the spokesperson for the lawmaker, announced this in a statement on Saturday, stating the event, was planned to be a fun-filled, carnival-like celebration, featuring various entertaining and educational activities, such as quiz competitions, cultural displays, and games for children.

The statement added that the initiative, the first of its kind in the constituency, is aim to celebrate Children’s Day by engaging with the children, discussing life lessons, and highlighting the dangers of bad influences and drug use.

As the Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports, Hon. Adebisi emphasises giving back to society through children, who represent the nation’s future.

The event will also include gift distributions, educational scholarships for top-performing students in the quiz competitions and other activities.

Notable guests expected to attend include the state First Lady, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, the Chairman of Oyo State Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the state Commissioner of Police, Hamzat Adebola, and other prominent figures who will serve as role models and address the importance of morality and the risks associated with narcotics.

Party executives from across the state, local, and ward levels are also expected to attend the celebration.

Children’s Day, first celebrated in Nigeria in 1964, is an international holiday that raises awareness of issues affecting children and celebrates their role as the future of our societies.
