CCII Confers Insurance Mogul, Mogaji Adewale Kadri With Grand Ambassador Of Ibadan Culture

Ambassador reechoed the need for the creation of Ibadan state

Insurance mogul, Mogaji Adewale Abass Kadri has been announced and decorated as the Grand Ambassador of Ibadan Culture.

The honour was bestowed on the insurance Mogul by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII at a well attended event, held at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo state capital on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

The event, which drawn notable personalities and organisations from far and near, was presided over by the President General of CCII, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole.

Speaking on the conferement, the chairman of 2024 Ibadan Cultural Planning Committee, Balogun Babatunde Gafar Ojetola said Mogaji of Olofa Compound, Irefin, Ibadanland, was picked for the prestigious honour, in recognition of his significant contributions to the progress and development of the cosmopolitan city of  Ibadan.

Ojetola added that Ambassador Kadri’s remarkable disposition to the CCII development projects, over the years is noteworthy, noting the recipient’s huge financial contribution to the educational project of Ibadan Cultural Festival.

Ojetola said that Ambassador Kadri, is the major sponsor for the 2024 educational project of Ibadan Cultural Festival.

The educational project organises writing competition for indigenous students across globe, and reward successful participants with cash award.

The Ibadan Cultural Festival’s writing competition is a nationally regarded as one of the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests.

Ojetola disclosed at the event that the star prize for this year competition is cash reward of N1 million for the best student.

In an interview with WesternLifeNewsNG, the newly decorated ambassador said the honour bestowed on him was a call to give back to Ibadanland the more.

“It is a good event in recognition of service to Ibadanland as a Mogaji of Ibadan. It’s a call to give back to Ibadanland the more,” he remarked.

The Ambassador called on well-to-do Ibadan indigenes to use their endowed resources and gifts towards the development and progress of Ibadanland.

“People should endeavor to contribute their own quota to the development of Ibadanland. We have many people with resources to elevate Ibadanland and all hands must be on deck to achieve 21st century greatness for Ibadanland so that we don’t have to be relied continuously on greatness of our forefathers.

He added, “the resources to be contributed by all well meaning successful Ibadan sons and daughters need not to be money alone but knowledge, ideas, talent, spiritual gift, connection and networking for Ibadan sons daughters both at home and abroad.”

Mogaji Kadri, who is the national president of Lagelu Grammar School Old Boys Associationa also expressed his belief and support for the creation of Ibadan state, charging every Ibadan native both at home and diaspora in every to work towards the reality of the dream.

“Yes, the need to have Ibadan State is always on the heart of all Ibadan sons and daughters. We are all Ibadan representatives and Ambassadors in our various area of human endeavors and we must all work hard to achieve Ibadan State,” he said.
