American rapper Cardi B has thrown her support behind Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming United States election.
Cardi B, who had previously favored Harris as the Democratic candidate after President Joe Biden’s debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump, celebrated Biden’s decision to step down and voiced her enthusiastic endorsement of Harris.
Reports indicate that President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the Democratic Party’s candidacy on Sunday, endorsing his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the party’s new flagbearer.
In response, Cardi B took to her social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her excitement: “Aha hahaha let’s go! I told y’all Kamala [Harris] was supposed to be the 2024 candidate… Stop f*ckin playin with me!”
Previously, in a May interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi B had stated she would abstain from voting in the November election if the candidates were the same as the last cycle, with Joe Biden representing the Democratic Party and Donald Trump the Republican Party.
She described Trump as a “dangerous threat” but also expressed deep disappointment in Biden, citing both domestic and foreign policy failures.
