The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has countered the declaration of Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Adamawa state governorship election.
Yunusa Ari, the resident electoral commissioner of INEC in Adamawa, had declared Binani winner on Sunday, causing controversy.
Ari made the declaration, even when the collations were still on and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party was still leading.

The Commission while declaring the announcement as null and void, summoned the REC and Returning officer to Abuja.
