BREAKING: INEC Declares Diri Winner Of Bayelsa Guber Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and incumbent governor of Bayelsa state, Douye Dire as the winner of the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state.

Diri polled 175,196 to beat his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress who garnered 110,108 to emerge second in the keenly contested election.

PDP’s candidate won in six local government area while APC torch bearer won in two local governments.
