The Association of Traditional Baales in Ibadanland has lauded the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, for what it described as visionary leadership aimed at improving welfare, security, and economic prosperity across the ancient city.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the association, Baale Folorunso Durojaye Bamitale Ige, JP, Baale Olohunde Ige, on Thursday, the Baales praised the monarch’s people-oriented initiatives, particularly the recent Ramadan and Lenten food distribution programme that benefited over 5,000 residents. The initiative, they noted, has helped ease economic hardship while promoting unity among people of different faiths in Ibadanland.

The association said the Olubadan’s sustained commitment to community welfare—ranging from food security efforts to broader humanitarian support has continued to strengthen social cohesion and reflects his dedication to the overall progress of Ibadanland.

The Baales also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated Economic and Investment Committee, led by Chief Mrs. Onikepo Akande, describing the body as a critical driver of economic revival and urban renewal.

They further commended the Olubadan for plans to launch the Ibadan Guards initiative alongside the Food Initiative, tagged “Gaari Ibadan,” noting that both programmes represent bold steps towards enhancing security and improving residents’ welfare.

According to the association, the committee, made up of seasoned professionals, is well-positioned to revive moribund industries, attract investments, and usher Ibadanland into a new phase of economic growth.

The Baales, therefore, called on all indigenes of Ibadanland to support the initiatives, stressing the need for collective commitment to achieving sustainable development in the city.
