Autopsy Report Suggests Drug Reaction in MohBad’s Mysterious Death

The fresh released autopsy report on the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as MohBad, has shed light on the possible cause of his death.

Conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), the autopsy involved extensive testing of various bodily samples, including gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung.

While the report highlighted an injury on MohBad’s right forearm and noted moderate to severe decomposition due to the body being exhumed eight days after burial, it ultimately could not conclusively determine the exact cause of death.

Toxicology tests revealed the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in MohBad’s system, but the concentration was not within a fatal range.

Despite this, the report suggests the possibility of a drug reaction or anaphylactic shock as potential contributors to his death.

The lack of significant post-mortem findings and the delay in exhumation, which possibly affected the toxicology results, were highlighted as challenges in pinpointing the precise cause.

MohBad’s death, which occurred on September 12, 2023, has been surrounded by speculation and controversy.

An auxiliary nurse, identified as Feyisayo Ogedengbe, admitted to administering multiple injections to MohBad, which reportedly led to immediate adverse reactions.

These injections included tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and ceftriaxone, given at his residence, which deviated from standard medical protocols.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, emphasised the criminal liability of Ogedengbe, noting her lack of qualifications to administer such potent medications.

The commissioner detailed how the nurse’s actions caused reactions like vomiting, goose bumps, and convulsions, which ultimately resulted in the singer’s death. Her unqualified status and the non-clinical setting of the injections further compounded the negligence involved in MohBad’s treatment.
