Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2023 general elections, has called out President Bola Tinubu over his insensitivity to the raging security failure in Nigeria.
Mr Abubakar could not fathom what informed the private visit of the president to France at this critical time the country is going through devastating security woes.
Apparently, lamenting the current surge in the kidnapping and killing of citizens across the country, the former vice president insisted that Nigeria needs “Commander in Chief” and not “Tourist in chief”.
Reacting via a post on his official X handle, Wazari Adamawa wrote, “Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. Imagine that the Commander-in-Chief is on a so-called private visit.
“At the same time, kidnappers kill a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay N90m ransom and two monarchs in Ekiti, among other regular tragedies besetting Nigerians.
“If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief. The country needs 24/7 leadership to confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy.”
