… Prays for victims of Alesinloye Market incident
Following the fire outbreaks at Alesinloye International Market, Ibadan, the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Oalwale Giwa, has charged the state government to redefine its approach to emergency situations in the state.
The charge was contained in a press statement from the Office of Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland and made available to journalists on Thursday.
Arc Giwa, while sympathizing with the victims of the fire outbreaks, said that the incident of fire outbreaks at market places and other emergency situations in Ibadan is getting too much.
The religious leader described the incident as a painful and unfortunate one, disclosing that if adequate support is not provided can wreck the life of the victims forever.
He reminded that victims of Bodija Estate explosion and December 2024 fire incident at Araromi Spare Parts Market, Agodi Gate are yet to get back on their feets financially.
While appealing to the state government to rejig it approach towards addressing emergency situations, begged for urgent palliative for the victims of Alesinloye International Market fire incident.
“The news of fire outbreaks at Alesinloye International Market in Ibadan was a very unfortunate one. Such news is not palatable for human consumption, because it is heartbreaking. It is an unfortunate incident that can wreck the life of the victims forever if there is no adequate support.
“I sympathize with the victims for the loss of their goods and valuable things worth millions of naira, and I pray that God replenishes them in multiple folds.
“Finally, I want to charge the state government to redefine its approach towards addressing emergency situations in the state. It has become a matter of importance for the state government to develop and deploy new strategies to deal with situations like this. Let the government support the Fire Service with modern fire fighter trucks and ensure that they are stationed at every major market across the state. This is becoming too much, the people that were affected by the Araromi Agodi Gate Spare Parts Market fire outbreaks are still nursing their wounds. I appeal to the government to rise to the occasion,” the HOG Foundation founder said.
