The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments in Nigeria (APPMEN) has announcef its 6th Anniversary celebration, scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, starting at 3:00 PM.
This milestone event will bring together media professionals, stakeholders, and advocates to reflect on the progress made and the path ahead for private media in Nigeria.
The anniversary celebration will feature a public lecture themed “Good Governance: Lessons from Successful Models Worldwide,” aimed at fostering discussions on effective governance practices that can enhance democratic processes in Nigeria.
Esteemed speakers from various sectors will share insights and experiences that highlight the importance of good governance in media operations.
Additionally, the event will include the investiture of APPMEN Alpha, the Grand Patron, and the inauguration of the APPMEN Advisory Board, reinforcing our commitment to leadership and guidance within the media landscape.
As part of the festivities, APPMEN will also present awards to outstanding members who have demonstrated excellence and commitment to promoting ethical journalism as well as to citizens who have made significant contributions to societal progress.
Furthermore, we are excited to unveil the Journalists 4 Democracy Project, an initiative designed to empower journalists and enhance their role in promoting democratic values across the nation.
The group enjoined the public to join the events stating, “as we ctelebrate six years of resilience, dedication, and progress in the private media sector. Together, we will continue to champion good governance and foster a vibrant media environment that serves the public interest.”
