Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 01, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State have announced the indefinite suspension of a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, over alleged misconduct.

The party accused Oyintiloye of allegedly misappropriating ₦5.6 million, a development that followed deliberations by ward executives, leaders and members on issues said to be threatening unity and cohesion within the ward.

The decision was conveyed in a letter dated Thursday, January 29, 2026, and addressed to the Osun State Chairman of the party, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal. The letter was jointly signed by 18 ward executives and five ward leaders.

According to the signatories, Oyintiloye was accused of unlawfully taking over an Executive Assistant (EA) slot and funds totaling ₦5.6 million without the approval of the ward leadership. They claimed the funds were originally meant for ward leaders, adding that the former lawmaker had already secured a personal EA slot through a third party while occupying a federal appointment.

The ward officials also alleged that Oyintiloye engaged in activities capable of causing division within the party at the ward level, including the organisation of parallel meetings.

In addition, they accused him of prolonged absence from ward meetings and political activities for over three years, as well as failure to make any meaningful financial or material contributions to ward activities despite benefiting from several political appointments.

“In view of the foregoing and his persistent lack of engagement and contribution to ward affairs, it has become necessary to take decisive disciplinary action,” the letter stated.

Consequently, the ward leadership declared that Hon. Oyintiloye had been suspended indefinitely from Ward One, Ibokun, and would no longer represent the interests of the ward at any level.

However, the leaders noted that they remained open to intervention from higher party authorities, stressing that their overriding concern was the unity and electoral success of the APC in future elections.
