ANUA Delegate Conference Holds October 19

The Quarterly Delegates Conference of the Association of Nigeria Universities Alumni (ANUA), is scheduled to hold from 19th to 21st of October, 2023.

The event which will be hosted by the Veritas University, Bwari in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will have the National Executive Officers alongside delegates from all member Alumni Associations of Nigeria Universities in attendance.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Secretary and Public Relation Officer of the Association, Dr Stephen Olawale Fasakin, Alh. Moh’d Sani Wada,and Mr Odinaka Chukwu Ukaabam respectively,
the Hon. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will chair the opening ceremony while the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Hon. Bappah Aliyu Misau will be the Guest Speaker.

The statement hinted that the conference will confer awards to some distinguished Nigerians who have supported the development of Tertiary Education over time in Nigeria.

Notable amongst the recipients are the Chief of Staff to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Minister of Education, Hon. Tahir Mamman, and Hon. Misau.

Others are the Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen. Yushau Dogara Ahmed, and Vice-Chancellor, Veritas University, Revd, Fr, Professor Hyacinth E. Ichoku.

Alluding to the theme of the event, “The Role of Alumni Association As Stakeholders In Enhancing Quality University Education In Nigeria”, the statement added that in the course of the Conference, members/delegates will deliberate on vital issues affecting tertiary education in Nigeria.

Delegates are also scheduled to pay courtesy visits to certain eminent personalities within the FCT during the event.
