Three civilians who were recently kidnapped by bandits in the Taraba state have been rescued by the 114 Battalion (Rear) of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Monday.
The successful operation carried out by the soldiers deployed in Apawa village of Yoro Local Government Area was reported to have possible as a result of an intelligence reports regarding the movement of the abductors and their captives from Ardo-Kola to Yoro.
In a statement released by the Nigerian Army, “the troops displayed exceptional courage and determination as they engaged the kidnappers in a firefight. Their superior firepower forced the criminals to abandon their three hostages, who were then safely recovered by the soldiers.
“This courageous operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the 6 Brigade to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of Taraba State. Law-abiding citizens are urged to support this effort by cooperating with the troops by giving them credible informations,” the statement reads.
