On this remarkable day, the 25th of September 2025, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, Arusa I, attains the blessed age of 81. By divine ordination, tomorrow, the 26th of September 2025, he shall be crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. Indeed, it is a double celebration for our beloved father and king — his birthday and his historic elevation — a moment destined to be remembered as one of the most glorious chapters in Ibadan’s history.

I celebrate our new monarch not only for this milestone but also for his noble character — his principled stand on issues, his sincerity, and his unwavering integrity.

Much like my late revered father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who was also a Libra, Oba Ladoja shares the destiny of kings born under the sign of balance, justice, and harmony. Both men faced trials and formidable obstacles on their paths to the throne, yet by the will of Almighty God, they prevailed. My father, though his reign was brief, departed leaving behind a legacy of honour and dignity that generations after us will continue to treasure. Likewise, Oba Ladoja, by God’s grace, shall reign in good health, with wisdom, fairness, and the sense of balance that the crown — and his birth sign — so perfectly embody. His reign shall be a blessing to all indigenes and residents of Ibadanland.

This moment teaches us a profound lesson: the path to greatness requires patience, humility, and loyalty. These great fathers waited for their appointed time, and in God’s perfect will, they were elevated. Those who desire the throne must learn from this — to support the reigning king at all times, for only God clears the path to destiny.

Today, we rejoice. We give thanks to Almighty God for the life of our father and king, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, Arusa I. We celebrate his 81 years of life, his resilience, and his crowning as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Happy birthday, and hearty congratulations to His Imperial Majesty — a king in whom I am well pleased.
