Sophia Momodu Reveals Struggles In Relationship With Davido, Cites Years Of Abuse, Manipulation

Sophia Momodu, the baby mama of David Adeleke, better known as Davido has told court that her relationship with the star singer began in 2014, resulting in the birth of their daughter in 2015.

“We broke up in 2017 and reconciled in 2020, but the relationship ultimately ended in 2022,” she added.

Throughout their relationship, Momodu often tried to end things due to the Applicant’s lies and unfaithfulness.

“He always used the threat of withdrawing his fatherly duties and maintenance for our daughter to force me back into a sexual relationship,” she stated.

Contrary to the Applicant’s claims, Momodu affirmed that she ended the relationship in 2022 after enduring years of abuse and deceit.

She noted that both she and the Applicant had always shared responsibility for their daughter’s upkeep.

However, she claimed that the Applicant never showed genuine commitment or love for their daughter. Instead, he used her availability for his sexual pleasure as a condition for visiting their daughter or displaying fatherly affection.

Momodu further alleged that the Applicant only spent time with their daughter for media stunts or promotions.

She stated that he would cut off communication and stop paying for their daughter’s school fees and maintenance whenever she refused his advances.

In 2017, while in Atlanta for a summer holiday, the Applicant allegedly kicked Momodu and their daughter out of his house, leaving them with nowhere to go. Momodu had to stay with a friend until she found new accommodation.

She recounted that the Applicant stopped communicating with their daughter for six months, only resuming after her persistent efforts to get him to speak with her.

Momodu disputed the Applicant’s claim about contributing to their housing costs. She stated that they had agreed to share the rent equally, but after their breakup, the Applicant refused to pay his share, offering only Five Million Naira annually, which was insufficient for their accommodation.

Additionally, Momodu refuted the Applicant’s claim of purchasing a 200 million Naira property for their daughter.

She had suggested, through her solicitors, that he could buy a house in their daughter’s name and set up a trust, but the Applicant declined, agreeing only to contribute the same annual rent amount.

Momodu emphasized that their daughter has been in her custody since birth, and she has been solely responsible for meeting her mental, social, moral, and financial needs, even fulfilling her financial commitments as agreed with the Applicant.
