Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka has called on the Federal Government to carefully address the ongoing minimum wage negotiations to prevent a potential crisis.
Currently, the government proposes a minimum wage of N62,000, while labour unions demand N250,000.
Mbaka criticised the high allowances given to legislators and suggested that senators, governors, and other officials should receive the same minimum wage as proposed for other civil servants.
He highlighted the disparity between the incomes of lawmakers and ordinary workers like teachers, nurses, and doctors, urging the government to act prudently to avoid escalating the situation.
