Tinubu Pays Condolence Visit To Akeredolu’s Family In Owo, Describes Late Gov. As Fearless Politician

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to Owo, the home town of late governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, to condole with the family of the deceased.

Tinubu, accompanied by Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo, described the late governor, saying as a fearless politician.

The president added that the vacuum created by the demise of Mr Akeredolu, will be difficult to fill.

Speaking also at the palace of Ajibade Ogunoye, the Olowo of Owo, Tinubu said the legacies of Akeredolu would forever be remembered by all, saying it was honourable to depart the world when the ovation was loudest, and praised the late Akeredolu’s passion for good governance.

“God will be with you, your children will do well in life, may you all end well. May God be with you and uphold you,” Tinubu said.

The Olowo thanked the President for the visit and described the late governor as a true democrat.

The traditional ruler appreciated Aiyedatiwa for his role in ensuring a befitting burial for his predecessor.

Mr Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023, after a protracted illness. He had since been buried in Owo on  Friday, March 23, 2024.
