Ondo state governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect.
In a statement made available on Wednesday, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the chief press secretary to the governor, said all members of the cabinet are to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.
Thegovernor also terminated the appointments of all senior special assistants (SSAs) and special assistants (SAs).
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) are also relieved of their duties, with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State.”
The development comes almost a month after Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the governor of the state, following the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, the former governor, who died on December 27, 2023 after a protracted battle with prostate cancer.
