...A multi-million naira strategic synergy sets the stage to transform Federal Polytechnic Nekede into the premier technological powerhouse of Southeastern Nigeria.
​In what will undeniably be remembered as a landmark epoch in the history of technical education in Southeastern Nigeria, the quiet academic atmosphere of Federal Polytechnic Nekede (FedPolyNek), Owerri, was electrifying on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A formidable triad of industry heavyweights, Renaissance Africa, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and Megastar Technical and Construction Company Limited, officially flagged off the construction of a state-of-the-art ICT Hub and Engineering Studio within the institution’s campus.
​This groundbreaking collaboration, celebrated during a colourful ceremony that began with an executive courtesy call at the Council Chamber, represents far more than physical infrastructure. It stands as a profound testament to institutional trust, prudent governance, and a shared vision aimed at equipping the modern Nigerian youth with global technical competencies.

​PRUDENCE MEETS OPPORTUNITY: WHY FEDPOLYNEK WAS CHOSEN
​Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Kenneth Nweke, Head of the University Relations Unit at Renaissance Africa, lavished praise on the institutional culture and leadership of Federal Polytechnic Nekede. Describing Nekede as possessing the academic vigour and ambience of a full-fledged university, Prof. Nweke emphasized that the selection of the institution was a deliberate and calculated decision.

​Adding to the industry perspective, Mrs. Ofonime Jamgbadi, Managing Director of Megastar Technical and Construction Company Limited, lauded NCDMB’s unwavering commitment to local content development and thanked Renaissance Africa for trusting their technical competence, pledging an unblemished project delivery.
