There was a brief confrontation at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party deputy governorship candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, in Ile-Ife on Saturday, as supporters reacted to the arrival of the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Benjamin Kayode Adereti.
Adereti, who had earlier voted at his own polling unit, Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, later visited Adewusi’s polling location.
His arrival reportedly unsettled some supporters of the deputy governor, who challenged his presence at the unit. The development quickly led to an exchange of words between the two sides, temporarily disrupting the calm atmosphere at the polling centre.
WesternLifeNewsNG correspondent gathered that Mr Adereti acted on a tip off of an alleged victimisation of some of  APC supporters at the polling unit. This however attracted the attention of voters and other party supporters at the location. The situation was eventually brought under control, with no report of injuries or arrests.
