A former Osun State Deputy Governor and former Minister of Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, has dismissed reports claiming she has defected from the Accord Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the rumour as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obada said her attention had been drawn to what she described as “a lie” being circulated by members of the opposition alleging that she had joined the APC.

She firmly denied the claim, stressing that she remains a committed member of the Accord Party and a political ally of Ademola Adeleke.

She urged members of the Accord Party and the people of Osun State not to be distracted by what she called misinformation, insisting that the rumour was intended to create confusion within the party.

Obada also expressed confidence in Governor Adeleke’s chances of securing a second term in office, stating that he would emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship election despite what she described as intimidation and harassment by the opposition APC in the state.

She called on Accord supporters to remain united, resolute and focused as the state prepares for the next governorship poll.
