Federal Polytechnic Nekede has once again witnessed the fulfillment of impactful philanthropy, as the pledged official vehicles by renowned benefactor, Mr. Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu (Cubana Chief Priest), were formally redeemed and presented to the institution.
The historic presentation took place on Friday, 24th April 2026, immediately after the Governing Council meeting at the Rectory Building. The event marked the official handover of a personal car, Es350 Lexus donated to the Students Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Nwosu Desmond Odinakachukwu, and Bus Nissan Hummer designated for the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Council of Royal Fathers both earlier promised during Cubana Chief Priest’s landmark visit and scholarship award ceremony.

In a well coordinated presentation, the Dean of Students Affairs Division, Dr. Paul Saint Christopher, formally handed over the vehicles to the 15th Governing Council Chairman, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, alongside the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, in the presence of Council Members, Principal Officers, and other key stakeholders of the institution.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and fulfillment as the SUG President, Comrade Nwosu Desmond Odinakachukwu, and members of the Council of Royal Fathers led by EZE NDI EZE OTAMMIRI DE 26 DYNASTY, MADUKA IFEANYICHUKWU CHINAZAEKPERE, stood in solidarity, witnessing the realization of a promise that underscores the power of goodwill and institutional partnership.

In his remarks, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh expressed profound appreciation for the donor’s consistency and generosity towards the institution. He described the gesture as a symbol of enduring partnership and a catalyst for institutional growth. In a symbolic and spiritual gesture, the Council Chairman blessed and formally commissioned the vehicles for official use, dedicating them to the service of the Polytechnic community.
Further demonstrating his support, Chief Ikoh generously donated ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 respectively for the immediate fueling of the official bus and the SUG President vehicle, ensuring their prompt operational use.
The Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, in her response, reaffirmed the institution’s gratitude to Cubana Chief Priest for not only honouring his pledge but for continually identifying with the progress of Federal Polytechnic Nekede. She emphasized that such acts of generosity serve as a beacon of hope and encouragement to students and stakeholders alike.
The event stands as a continuation of the earlier philanthropic milestone where Cubana Chief Priest awarded ₦72 million scholarships to 1,000 students, further solidifying his legacy as a committed supporter of education and youth empowerment.
As the vehicles were unveiled and commissioned, the Polytechnic community celebrated yet another milestone under Dr. Igbokwe’s administration, one that reflects integrity, fulfilled promises, and the strengthening bond between benefactors and the institution.
This remarkable gesture reinforces the culture of accountability and generosity, positioning Federal Polytechnic Nekede as a thriving academic community driven by visionary leadership, committed stakeholders, and impactful partnerships.
