FPNO Gains Digital Validation, Joins NBTE ERP Drive

In a defining moment for institutional digital transformation and regulatory compliance, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri (FPNO) on Saturday, 10th January, 2026, successfully received and hosted a high-powered delegation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), marking its formal onboarding into the NBTE Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform.

Acting on behalf of the institution, the Director , ICT Directorate, Mrs. Ijeoma Ugochukwu-Ibe, and the ICT Team received the NBTE team led by Mohammed Usman, Director, ERP/NBTE South, alongside Abubakar Nasiru Salihu, ERP/NBTE Technical Support Officer. The visit followed a rigorous process of investigation, inspection and evaluation of facilities, systems and institutional readiness for full ERP integration.

After a comprehensive on-the-spot assessment of infrastructure, records, digital processes and operational compliance, the NBTE team officially onboarded the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, placing the institution among the select few polytechnics in South East Nigeria that met the stringent requirements for the ERP deployment.

The delegation commended the institution for its high level of preparedness, functional facilities and demonstrable commitment to standardization and transparency. Of particular note was the robust digital framework already put in place, which aligned seamlessly with NBTE’s vision for a unified, technology-driven regulatory ecosystem across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

This landmark achievement did not come by chance. It is the direct outcome of the visionary, tireless and workaholic leadership of the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, whose administration has consistently prioritized digitalization, institutional reform and process standardization. From infrastructural upgrades to data integrity, staff capacity building and system automation, the Rector left no stone unturned in ensuring that all NBTE requirements were meticulously met.

Members of the NBTE delegation openly acknowledged the Rector’s hands-on leadership style and unwavering commitment to positioning FPNO as a model polytechnic of the future. They highly recommended the institution’s digital readiness, describing it as a benchmark worthy of emulation.
