The Christian Evangelistic Mission (CEM), Nekede District, has conferred an Award of Honour on the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, in recognition of her exemplary leadership, moral integrity, and commitment to institutional development.
The award was received on behalf of the Rector by Dr A C Madu JP, Director, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (APQAD), at the presentation ceremony.

According to the leadership of the Christian Evangelistic Mission, the honour was bestowed in appreciation of Dr. Igbokwe’s people-centred administration, emphasis on accountability and ethical governance, and sustained support for initiatives that promote peace, discipline, and moral values within the Polytechnic community and its environs.
Receiving the award, Dr. Madu conveyed the Rector’s appreciation to the Mission for the recognition, describing it as a collective honour to the management, staff, and students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede. He reaffirmed the Rector’s commitment to strengthening academic standards, institutional reforms, staff and student welfare, and community engagement in line with the Polytechnic’s mandate.
He further noted that recognitions of this nature serve as encouragement for the Rector to continue providing purposeful and inclusive leadership anchored on service, integrity, and excellence.
The presentation ceremony featured prayers and goodwill messages, reflecting the Mission’s resolve to encourage public office holders whose leadership demonstrates positive values and measurable impact on society.

The award adds to the growing list of recognitions received by Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Igbokwe since assuming office as Rector, reinforcing her administration’s focus on repositioning Federal Polytechnic Nekede as a centre of academic excellence, ethical leadership, and societal relevance.
