It was a day of joy, glamour and thanksgiving on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as Prophet Dr. Olabode Odunayo, popularly known as Baba Love, celebrated his 60th birthday in grand style at the headquarters of Love of Christ Global Bible Church, Sawmill, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The milestone occasion drew the crètme de la crème of society, including royal fathers, eminent religious leaders, gospel singers, government functionaries and top business executives, all gathered to honour the revered cleric.

Baba Love, surrounded by his devoted wife, Mama Funke Olabode, and their children, was celebrated by congregants and well-wishers who described him as a man of deep faith and resilience.
The event was graced with soul-lifting music from the popular Adegbodu Twins, whose performance kept the atmosphere electric. Guests and church members were treated to sumptuous meals and top-class entertainment, adding colour and elegance to the thanksgiving celebration.

Speaking in an interview during the celebration, Baba Love expressed gratitude to God for sustaining his life through six decades, despite challenges and turbulent moments in ministry.
“I’m very happy marking 60 years in this turbulent world. I appreciate the Almighty God for sparing my life despite ups and downs. Over 40 years ago, we started this ministry small, and here we are today to the glory of God. About 13 years ago, I had a terrible accident on my way to Osogbo for revival. I lost my mother and two close associates in that tragedy, but God kept me alive. For that, I remain eternally grateful,” he recalled.

On the challenges of ministry, the cleric stated that difficulties are part of the journey of faith. Quoting John 16:33, he said: “Jesus told us that in this world, we shall face tribulations, but we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Whatever the turbulence, Jesus remains the light that removes darkness.”
Turning to the state of the nation, Prophet Olabode urged Nigerians to return to God genuinely, not just in words but in deeds.
“Nigeria’s situation is not new. Things like this happened in Samaria, as the Bible records. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. What we need is to draw closer to God in truth. If we serve Him with sincerity, He will heal our land, bless our food, bless our water, and take away diseases,” he said.
As part of his ministry’s philosophy, Baba Love stressed that love must be practical, not just spoken.
“That is why we are called Love of Christ Global Bible Church. Love is giving. For God so loved the world, He gave His son. Whatever we are, we must give to humanity,” he explained.
Addressing young people, the cleric warned against the pursuit of vanity and worldly pleasures.
“Youth of today are running after what is beyond their age. Many are restless for wealth and material things. But the Bible says, ‘Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.’ My advice to them is to surrender to God, because He can give more than what the world offers. Seek first the kingdom of God, and other things will be added,” he admonished.
As Prophet Olabode clocked 60, his life and ministry stood as testimony to resilience, faith, and divine grace.
