Former Nigeria’s president Olusegun Obasanjo’s aide, Prince Lukman Adelodu Gbadegesin Agunloye has emerged as successor of late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.
The Oba in Council on Wednesday announced Mr Agunloye as the new Alaafin elect of Oyo .
WesternLifeNewsNG recalled that Oba Adeyemi passed away in April 2022 after a brief illness.
He was 83 years old and the longest reigning Alaafin ever, having ruled for more than 51 years.
Agunloye’s name is expected to be ratified by Governor Seyi Makinde.
