The Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa has urged the Muslim in Ibadan land and Oyo State at large to continue to maintain peaceful co-existence.
Giwa, in a statement through his media office to commemorate the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, saluted the religious leaders for being on top of the game to checkmate their followers and ensuring that peace and tranquility continue to rein in Ibadan and Oyo State.
He extended his greetings to those he described as pillars of Islam in the state including the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Dawud Akinola, Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo (Onimaalu), Babasale Musulimi of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Akanbi and Iya Adini Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaja Shekinat Adekola and other Islamic leaders, scholars and preachers in the state.
”I greet all Muslim ummah in Ibadan land and Oyo State in general on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration. I specifically salute you all for being their for Islam, for ensuring that peace and tranquility is sustain in the state.
”I want to urge us all to build on this, let us continue to maintain that peaceful co-existence among other religious worshippers in Ibadan and Oyo State to be able to enjoy the economic growth and development.
”We all know the importance of Eid-el-Kabir festival, let us all at times be ready to submit ourselves to the will of the almighty Allah, let us be obedience to the rules and regulations guiding the land, let us obey our leaders, let us promote unity among ourselves irrespective of tribe and religion affiliations and let us celebrate with modesty remember the poor.
”Finally, I want to appeal to us to use this period of Eid-el-Kabir festival to pray for leaders in Nigeria, Oyo and Ibadanland for knowledge, understanding and God’s guidance,” Arc Hassan Giwa said.
