The Federal Government has announced plans to sell 753 properties seized from former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to low and middle-income Nigerians.
This was disclosed by Badamasi Haiba, spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, in an interview with The Punch.
He stated that the sale of the estate, which is still under construction, will align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at expanding homeownership opportunities for ordinary citizens.
Haiba explained that the ministry will begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment of the estate before initiating the sales process. “Next would be to profile the houses and decide how they will be sold to Nigerians,” he said.
He stated that the minister’s vision has consistently focused on inclusive housing, ensuring that citizens across various income levels, especially low and middle-income earners, benefit from government housing initiatives.
Haiba also assured the public that a flexible payment plan would be introduced to make the homes more accessible to those who genuinely need them.
