The Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Olawale Giwa, has harped on the need for the well-to-do people to sacrifice more for the poorest in the country.
Mr Giwa, in his message to congratulate Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, Oyo State and Ibadanland in particular, said that the present economic situation in the country called for more sacrifice by the government and wealthy people in the society for the benefit of the masses.
He described the holy month of Ramadan as a period of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and rededication to the calls of the Almighty God by observing fasting for 29 and 30 days.
Mr Giwa, who is the Founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, disclosed that witnessing this year’s Ramadan is an opportunity for renewed commitment through kindness, generosity, and Zakat for the less privileged in society.
Asiwaju Adini congratulated the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere, and the entire Imam-in-Council on the occasion of this year’s Ramadan. He prayed long life for them to witness many more of it.
Mr Giwa also extended his Ramadan greetings to all Islamic religious leaders including the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Chief Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, Iya Adini Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaja Sekinat Adekola, Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo Onimalu, and Babasale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Akanbi.
He implored all Muslim Faithful to use this period of Ramadan to move closer to God by seeking for His forgiveness and prosperity.
