Ajorosun College of Health Technology, a leading private health institution in Oyo State, held its maiden matriculation ceremony on Thursday, January 30, 2025, welcoming its first set of students into the institution.

Speaking as the Chief Host, the Provost of the institution, Dr. Adeniyi Odedele, expressed his delight at the milestones the college has achieved so far. He commended the efforts of the governing council in making the vision of the institution a reality.

Dr. Odedele congratulated the new students, stating that the institution is proud to have them as part of its growing academic community. Reflecting on the founding of the college, he shared that the vision was inspired by his passion for grassroots healthcare, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar of society’s well-being.

On the issue of tuition, the provost emphasized that the institution remains considerate of the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

“Given the current economic hardship in our nation, we have structured our tuition fees to be moderate and have also introduced an easy payment plan to ease the burden on students and their families,” he stated.

He further assured students of a quality learning experience, revealing that highly competent tutors have been carefully selected to equip them with knowledge and positive values.

“We have sourced the best hands in the field to impart both academic knowledge and moral character, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for the healthcare sector,” he added.

Dr. Odedele urged parents and sponsors to support the students in every possible way to enable them to excel in their academic journey. Addressing the matriculants, he encouraged them to embrace discipline, dedication, and excellence in their studies.

“As health professionals, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare. This institution will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to develop innovative solutions, improve health outcomes, and save lives,” he said.

He further advised students to take full advantage of the available academic resources and build meaningful relationships with their peers and faculty members to create a strong support network.

In a goodwill message, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by Comrade Olumide Ayodeji, lauded the college’s management for establishing a legacy of excellence. He described the matriculation as a landmark achievement that should serve as an encouragement to the students.

Comrade Ayodeji reaffirmed Governor Makinde’s unwavering support for youth development, highlighting the significant number of young professionals serving in his administration.

“The institution is preparing you for the future. Beyond academics, it is important to uphold good character and self-esteem, which are the true marks of distinction,” he advised the students.

He further urged them to make the college proud and, by extension, bring honor to Oyo State through academic excellence and moral uprightness.

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Jonathan Ajah, the Head of the Department of Community Health, commended the provost for his visionary leadership. He disclosed that the Board of the Institution is working tirelessly to secure accreditation for additional programs in the near future.
