The Ekiti State Microfinance and Enterprise Creation Agency has announced plans to roll out initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of the current economic hardship and enhancing the living standards of residents.
This was disclosed by a board member of the agency and former commissioner at the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), Mr. Olaitan Olayinka, during an interaction with journalists in Efon Alaaye on Sunday.
Mr. Olayinka revealed that the agency is mobilizing funds to launch programs such as the “Improve Your Business” (IYB) initiative for business owners and the “Market Orientation Value” (MOV) scheme targeted at unemployed graduates.
Under the IYB scheme, entrepreneurs will receive financial support to expand their businesses, while the MOV program will train young graduates in entrepreneurship and provide startup funding for their ventures.
“The aim is to ease the hardship faced by Ekiti residents and uplift their standard of living, regardless of political or religious affiliation, in line with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s directive,” Olayinka stated.
He commended the governor’s efforts in fostering unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and among Ekiti indigenes, both at home and abroad, in pursuit of the state’s development.
Olayinka also urged Ekiti residents to support Governor Oyebanji’s administration, stating that the governor’s commitment to transformative policies and projects signals better days ahead for the state.
“Politics is a game of numbers. All APC members must rally behind the governor and bring in opposition members to secure a smooth second term for him during the 2026 governorship election,” he added.
Olayinka praised Governor Oyebanji’s foresight and unwavering dedication to Ekiti’s progress, expressing confidence in the governor’s ability to achieve the vision of the state’s forefathers and make Ekiti a model for others in Nigeria.
