US Presidential Election: Harris Can Win Georgia Despite Potential For Divided Govt, Says Democratic Strategist

Arshad Hasan, a prominent Democratic political strategist, has dismissed claims suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris may have a weaker position than former President Donald Trump in the key battleground state of Georgia.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Hasan highlighted the state’s recent Democratic victories, stating, “We didn’t just win 2020 for Biden; we won twice for Senate in Georgia. So this is definitely a seat that’s available.”

As the nation heads into a high-stakes election, Hasan noted that a likely scenario could involve a divided government, where one party controls the White House and the other holds a majority in Congress.

This division, Hasan explained, emphasizes the importance of a leader who is willing to engage across party lines and adapt when necessary.

“When Americans are choosing, they’re choosing a leader that will not only get things done but who can see across the aisle,” he said, underscoring the qualities voters may prioritize amid a closely contested race.
