ARM Pension Managers Limited has placed one of their executive directors on administrative leave following rape allegations made by a female employee.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of July 18, during a team bonding event organised by the company in Lagos.
In a statement released on Wednesday, ARM expressed deep concern over the allegations and emphasized their commitment to addressing the situation with seriousness and sensitivity.
“First and foremost, our thoughts are with our colleague who has come forward. We want to express our deepest concern and support for her during this tough time,” the statement read.
“Sexual assault is a grave matter that has no place in our organization and society at large, and we stand firmly against all forms of harassment or violence.”
The company has initiated a thorough and independent investigation into the allegation and is fully cooperating with law enforcement to ensure the investigation is both comprehensive and impartial.
The accused executive director has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
“We are also offering support services to the complainant, including counseling and any other resources she may need during this time,” the statement added.
ARM reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace, emphasising their zero tolerance for sexual harassment or assault and their continuous efforts to foster a culture of integrity and respect.
Earlier in the week, a viral social media post detailed the incident, with the employee, a single mother of two, alleging that the executive director raped her in a hotel room in the Lekki area of Lagos.
