The serene community of Irete was aglow on Sunday, May 18, 2025, as it played host to a high profile Thanksgiving Service and Reception by the family of Dr. Sir and Lady A.A. Ojiuko at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Special Jurisdiction, Irete.
The occasion celebrated Lady Mrs. Chinyere Adanne Ojiuko’s appointment as the Bursar of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, a dream realized through divine grace.
In a statement by Noble Uchegbu Uchechukwu Zachariah, Special Assistant to the Rector on Media Matters, the thanksgiving and reception drew an impressive gathering, including the Rector of the Polytechnic , Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, Principal Officers, Past Principal Officers, and a large enthusiastic contingent from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community. The atmosphere was rich with joy, reverence and testimonies, as all uniting to give thanks for this milestone.
In his sermon, the officiating priest exhorted the congregation to cultivate a heart of gratitude and remain steadfast while waiting in God’s perfect timing for their blessings. His message struck a chord with many, echoing the journey that brought Lady Ojiuko to her new role.
Following the service, the celebration moved to the elegant Hyatt Hotels Conference Hall, Irete, where Ojiuko family warmly welcomed guests and the event masterfully anchored by Federal Polytechnic Nekede’s renowned Master of Ceremony, Bossman and Chief Igolo. The crowd was enthralled by the captivating performance of Chris, the One-Man Band.
Lady Mrs. Chinyere Adanne Ojiuko visibly radiant and full of gratitude, was glowingly as well eloquently profiled by the MC. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rector, Principal Officers, and the Federal Polytechnic Nekede community for their overwhelming support. She acknowledged the steadfast presence of FEPNOWA, Imo Daughters (FedPolyNek Chapter), and the Bursary Staff, who attended in large numbers.
In an emotional moment and deep appreciation, Lady Ojiuko honoured her husband, Dr. Sir A.A. Ojiuko, for his unwavering support in achieving her dream. Lady Ojiuko described her role as Bursar as an act of worship and service, pledging unwavering dedication, commitment, and excellence. She reaffirmed her loyalty and support to the Rector as they steer the institution toward greater heights.
The Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Igbokwe, who led the Federal Polytechnic Nekede delegation, expressed immense joy in celebrating the Bursar’s achievement.
She praised Lady Ojiuko’s exceptional qualifications and readiness for the role, noting that her financial expertise is a divine gift to the institution’s vision.
